Disposable Vacuum Blood Collection Tube of PT Tube

Disposable vacuum blood collection tube which with 1:9 sodium citrate .

PT Tube, which also known as sodium citrate coagulation test tube, with light blue cap, the sodium citrate mainly acts as an anticoagulant by chelating calcium ions in blood samples. The anticoagulant concentration recommended by the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standardization is 3.2% or 3.8% (equivalent to 0.109mol/L or 0.129mol/L), and the ratio of anticoagulant to blood is 1:9. The vacuum blood collection tube contains about 0.2 mL of 3.2% sodium citrate anticoagulant, It can collect blood to 2.0 ml. The sample preparation type is whole blood or plasma. After blood collection, invert and mix 5-8 times immediately . Then after centrifugation, take the upper plasma for later use. It is suitable for coagulation experiments, PT, APTT, and coagulation factor examinations.

    Application

PT Tubes are mainly used for the tests of blood coagulation mechanism. It contains a 0.109mol/L(3.2%)buffered tri-solium citrate solution.
The mixing ratio is 1 part citrate to 9 parts blood with the advantage of high accurate blood-to-additive ratio. It can provide an excellent condition for the tests of PT and APTT Values.

    PT Definition

Prothrombin time (PT) refers to the time required for plasma to coagulate by adding excess tissue thromboplastin and calcium ions to platelet-deficient plasma. Prothrombin time is an indicator that reflects the activity of coagulation factors I, II, V, VII, and X in plasma. Prothrombin time measurement is a screening test to check whether the body's extrinsic coagulation system function is impaired, and it is also an important monitoring indicator for clinical anticoagulation therapy.
